Description
King Parrot Cottages and Event Centre provides accommodation near the Great Ocean Road and Lorne in the Otway Ranges, nestled on the north-facing hillside of the spectacular Pennyroyal Valley.
Mannagum Cottage is an Assisted Walking accessible cottage, thoughtfully designed for guests who use walking frames or canes. With no stairs, Mannagum offers easy mobility, and we provide optional accessibility aids such as a shower chair and toilet chair—simply let us know when booking if you need these, and we’ll ensure everything is ready for your stay.
One of Mannagum’s cosy bedrooms features a connecting door to the dining and living space, perfect for guests who require supervision or prefer to stay close to their loved ones.
The cottage is fully equipped for a self-catered stay, with a complete kitchen that includes a full-size fridge, stove top, and oven. The spacious deck, complete with a BBQ, is an ideal spot for family gatherings. Savour a delicious BBQ meal while soaking up the fresh country air, spectacular views, and the soothing sound of native birdsong.
There are acres of bush walking terrain waiting to be explored at King Parrot. Take a hike through the gorgeous bush tracks, exploring diverse terrains from the rainforest valley floor to the north facing side of the Pennyroyal Valley. Follow the mossy creek through fern gullies and beneath towering eucalypts and discover our private waterfall.
In addition to immersing yourself in nature, there are many other varied activities within the King Parrot grounds, nearby in the greater Otway Ranges and along the Great Ocean Road. Our in-ground saltwater swimming pool next to our children’s playground. The nearby Games Room features table tennis, fuse-ball, air hockey, darts and many board games. Attached to the Games Room is a small gym for those days when the weather keeps you indoors. The gym has a treadmill, bike, rower and dumbbells. You can fish for yabbies in our dam at certain times of the year (equipment is provided you just need to bring the bait!)

Booking Policy
House Rules
Our policy is to maintain a minimal environmental impact so that others, as well as our guests, may enjoy the peace and beauty of the Pennyroyal Valley. Therefore, the management of King Parrot reserves the right to control the level of noise created on the property and in the evenings, noise must be kept to a minimum after 10:00pm on weekdays and 10:30pm on weekends. Again, to retain the tranquillity of the valley for both our neighbours and our guest’s, loud music is not permitted at any time.
Cancellation
Firm - Full refund given if a guest cancels more than 5 days before their scheduled arrival date. If 5 days or less notice is given, the host retains the full booking fee.
